WHAT FREE YEA AFRICANS

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE STATEMENT "AFRICANS ARE FREE NOW THEY CAN DO AS THEY WISH?"

"Go back to Africa" Does that make sense?

Does it make any sense for people use that in thier insults to discriminate black people? (There shouldn't be a reason to) I don't promote such foul tasting conversation but for the sake of discussion, anyway after anilizing that being said with ignorance of course. Does it make sense when slavery history tells us it was the Slave owners who brought them to America and the Carribean in the first place? What bounds do ignorance and unintelligence leap?

Can We All Get Along????

Throughout the course we learn about how black people started wars with neighboring villages and traded them to the Europeans in exchange for supplies and weapons. As time went on the world has experienced conflict between black and white people and conflict in which black people have had with each other from Africa to the United States.

Do you think that black and white people will ever eliminate all signs of discrimination against each other and learn to work together?

CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hi class. I'm sorry I have been away for two days now. I truly have not been able to come in. Today I'm going to see the doctor and I should be well enough to come tomorrow!

In the meantime, I have some important announcements and reminders for you:

1. Today you are in the lab working on the Blog the ENTIRE time. Please do not use facebook, etc. I will be checking in with the supply teacher after class.

2. Many of your classmates have posted excellent thread questions. It is your responsibility to respond to these. You MUST post a minimum of ten comments to meet the requirements for this assignment.

3. If you have not done so already, remember to post your own thread question.

4. Finally, because I have been away and not there to answer questions, I have decided that I will grant a short extension on the assignment. I will not count any posts made after SUNDAY DECEMBER 19 at midnight. (You can thank me later, I accept chocolate, candy and tennis rackets)

Sincerely,
-Ms K

Abraham Lincoln a hero???

I'm curious as to what you all think about the following passage that was said by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War (found it online, might not be legit)

"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not to either save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause."

Do you believe he said this? Did he declare the Emancipation proclamation because he wanted an end to slavery or just to preserve the union?

North American Or African Slavery

Forgive me everybody for being hard headed for this question I'm about to ask.

Why do you think that everyone talks about slavery in the south of North America rather than talk about slavery in the whole continent of Africa?
