Can We All Get Along????

Throughout the course we learn about how black people started wars with neighboring villages and traded them to the Europeans in exchange for supplies and weapons. As time went on the world has experienced conflict between black and white people and conflict in which black people have had with each other from Africa to the United States.

Do you think that black and white people will ever eliminate all signs of discrimination against each other and learn to work together?

  1. Yes, our era is the best example! Black and white people are communicating well in our society today, there are some who are very bluntly honest and will tell you that they are racist by the way they treat you nevertheless most people are not OPENLY racist anymore. People may still have stereotypical views towards some races however today people are able to work together.
Our classrooms are not segregated...An individual that is from a specific race is able to communicate well with someone from another race. We have come a long way from history.... things have changed.

Will there be a time where all races will be able to work together with ABSOLUTLY no discrimination/racism?
I hope so...but only God knows.

  2. I think in Canada right now black and white people work together fine, even though both races dont always see eye to eye, its not the same as it used to be. There will allways be some type of racism.

  3. It will never go away. Even if the entire population were of color, there will still be conflict. If not white vs. Black it's darkskin vs light skin, curly hair vs straight. Racists will find ANYTHING to keep the hatred going. Why else is it that black leaders and great black providers are never reconized as the good in black society, they all have someone to ruin them. Martin Luther's assassination to the unnecessary and uncalled for bring down of Micheal jackson who too is not reconized for the benifiting of humanity, No one likes to chat about his donations to help children not and to never hurt.
Some where it will be haters within our yin and yang (whites vs. Blacks)Now it's obama. People honestly think that he is magic and that he will make the world better in a blink of an eye? They would rather Bush that destroyed america then Obama that hasn't had that much time? Black health care benifits isn't imortant? Why not? People compare him to Aldof Hitler because both him and Obama had charismatic ways of speaking? The most Bush has gotten was Jokes and dislike and a double election... Obama has not. Will they vote him in again?... I don't even know...

  4. I don't think such a reality is possible no matter how long time has passed the history between blacks & whites. Also discrimination is passed on from generation to generation so I don't believe that discrimination will go away, because of the teaching from their elders.

  6. Discrimination, in a sense is rather obscene, humans dissing humans, for the simple fact of the color of skin. Many people fail to realize the true esscence of acceptance and nurturing our brothers and sisters, because in reality the bigger Family Tree leads back to two people, we are all brothers and sisters, all family. I still see today, the discrimination, not even from the words they can prove that it is, but rather the eyes and the looks they give, everyday I see it. Go Blues.

  7. Yes I believe that one day black and white people will eliminate all signs of discrimination against each other and learn to work together, because I feel like many of the black and white individuals have learned to forgive and learn from the past. The black have become stronger and have more confident towards each other. And the white have learned that "the blacks" have the same rights and freedom as they do. Now a days may people are mixed which in my opinion, shows the demolished of discrimination /racism.

  8. Yes, if we all want the same thing or are working towards a common goal. If we can stop competing on "whose race is the best" there's we'll be able to get along.
